Eight days ago, I made a wild prediction on the MLB Postseason. Obviously, the American League didn’t change, as that side of the bracket was already set (except for which team would host the Wild Card game, and I successfully predicted that to be the Yankees).
After each postseason series, I will write a new article with an updated bracket. This is the second article, written before the two Wild Card games. The National League Wild Card is tonight at 8 PM EST, so we’ll have to see how that unfolds.
In my original prediction, I assumed the Wild Card game would feature the Cardinals and Brewers, taking place in Milwaukee. But a tiebreaker game later, it was the Brewers who ended up pulling ahead, leaving the Cubs in the dust that is the NL Wild Card game. The game will actually feature the Cubs and Rockies, who also lost a tiebreaker game against the Dodgers. Who wins that game, is up to fate at this point.
Speaking of the Dodgers, I predicted in my original bracket that they would win the NL West and go on to face the Braves in the NLDS, which came true. As my bracket is already set, I can’t change it; however, I’m starting to doubt whether or not the Braves could actually beat the Dodgers in the NLDS, and same for the Cubs, who may have a hard time beating Milwaukee in the NLDS (that is, if they even get past the Rockies first). Hell, the Rockies may end up taking the W, leaving the Cubs to fly their infamous L flag. Who knows?
As stated, the American League is set, and that Wild Card game hasn’t started yet, so that side of the bracket will go unmentioned for now. So, to recap the bracket prediction updates from last time:
- Original prediction: NL Wild Card: Brewers @ Cardinals
- Actual situation: NL Wild Card: Rockies @ Cubs
- NLDS: Dodgers vs Braves (successfully predicted)
- American League: Yet to be determined.
As mentioned, my bracket will be updated after each MLB postseason series comes to an end, so the next article (which will be linked here) and prediction will come after both Wild Card games are completed, so most likely October 4.
